Over the first 18 months of FUEL-UP project, BTG Biomass Technology Group BV, with the support of SINTEF and Ranido, has made significant strides in its multi-step process to convert pyrolysis oil into a refinery-like product, largely targeted to be a fully Hydrotreated Pyrolysis Oil (HPO).
🌱 The research establishes a two-step process to transform raw pyrolysis oil into a “green refinery intermediate” equivalent. While currently demonstrated at the pilot scale (Technology Readiness Level 4/5), this pathway is designed for rapid commercial deployment.
