We are pleased to announce that FUEL-UP coordinator, Duncan Akporiaye, Vice Preseident Research at SINTEF Industry, will speak at the 16th Concawe Symposium, taking place on 8–9th October 2026 in Brussels.
Under the theme “Evolution of Refiners’ & Fuel Manufacturers’ Strategic Role in the Energy Transition”, he will talk about upgrading bio-oils for use as sustainable maritime and aviation fuels with focus on interfacing to existing refinery processes as a route to effective deployment.
Over the two days, participants will explore pathways for transport decarbonisation across the road, aviation and maritime sectors, including the role of low-carbon fuels, new energy feedstocks and evolving powertrain technologies. The programme will also address the transformation of European refineries towards climate neutrality by 2050 and the technologies required to support this transition.
We look forward to contributing to these discussions and exchanging perspectives with colleagues from across industry, academia and policymaking.
