We are pleased to announce that a paper and a Power Point presentation have been recenlty published in the proceedings of the 34th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE 2026), held in the Hague, The Netherlands, in May 2026.
The first publication, entitled “Recovery of Alcohols in Aqueous Stream from Stabilized Pyrolysis Oil Process“, by Trinh, T., Gilardi, M., Wittgens, B., focuses on the recovery of methanol, ethanol, and acetic acid in the aqueous phase derived from Stabilized Pyrolysis Oil (SPO) and Stabilized Deoxygenated Pyrolysis Oil (SDPO) as a promising route for the valorization of pyrolysis side-streams. The study demonstrates the viability of valorizing pyrolysis aqueous phases through energy-optimized separation schemes.

The Power Point presentation, entitled “Process Design for the Recovery of Valuable Organic Compounds from Pyrolysis Oil Aqueous Phase” , by Gilardi,.M., focuses on the process design, modelling, and optimisation for organics recovery via distillation from aqueous phase produced in the pyrolysis oil stabilisation process.
The open-access proceedings of EUBCE 2026 feature 554 contributions, including 206 papers, 211 posters, and 56 slide presentations from oral and plenary sessions, spanning more than 1100 pages. The volume captures the latest advancements in biomass production and utilization and provides valuable insights into future perspectives for the sector. As in previous editions, each paper has been assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), providing a permanent reference for identification and citation.
