On 21 May 2026 Matteo Gilardi, Researcher Scientist at SINTEF Industry, represented FUEL-UP project in the 34th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE 2026) in The Hague with the visual presentation “Raman Spectroscopic Method for Quantification and Real-Time Monitoring of Key Compounds in the Aqueous Phase of Pyrolytic Oil”.
SINTEF’s experimental work used aqueous fractions from stabilized and deoxygenated pyrolysis oils (SPO and SDPO) introducing a Raman spectroscopy method that is rapid, non-destructive, and accurate for quantifying the components in aqueous fractions and distillation products. This scalable PAT solution offers a robust, reagent-free way to optimize bio-oil production and ensure consistent quality in the aqueous phase of pyrolysis oils.
